When I am not eating, as many of you know, I'm a makeup and fashion whore. It wasn't in my budget to buy like I used to, but today I treated myself to a new black dress, new t-strap black shoes to go with (very 1930s), and some new makeup. I am also marinating in Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom, which I am eyeing on ebay. Somebody stop me..
Walking five miles in flip flops was painful. We thought, perhaps, we'd go over to Hooters for wings (I know, I know) after the game. Sure, we could walk, it's right across the Purple People Bridge, right? Yeah. Bad idea. We ended up at Hofbrauhaus, whose kitchen closed at 9:30, but we still got some pretzels. Went to make the long walk back and the bridge was closed for fireworks (on a Thursday?!). We made it back home around midnight. Fun, but this is why I don't wear flip flops. 5 miles would have been nothing in proper shoes.
Tonight is Taste of NFL. So excited to go-- 30 chefs, football players, photo ops and a great opportunity to plug the blog. Yay. I'm going to head to Ann Taylor Loft at lunchtime to see if I can find an outfit for it on sale.
Tomorrow is 48 Hour Film. It's about a month earlier than last year. Terry's joining me this year! So exciting.
Trying to freelance more-- have my meager portfolio out there, and my resume too.
I should not have eaten that donut today. Ew.

Me! An editor's pick at the NYTimes! And I had the forethought to post my blog address.
Not eating out seems to be my key to weight loss. No dinners out since Sunday, I'm down two pounds. Considering this week is hell week for me (Hair) and next week is hell week for Terry (Enchanted April), I don't see my diet of goat cheese and crackers letting up any time soon. Protein, carbs... throw in a few of my now-favorite mandarin oranges (fresh, not canned) and I'm a happy lady who is very up on her calcium and vitamin C.
The food blog is going well. I'm averaging around 100 hits a day, and I really enjoy doing it. I'm getting better with my photography skills (as good as I can get on a point-and-shoot) and I'm learning a lot about food and restaurants.
I am also Twittering more-- you can follow me on Twitter as Winemedineme. It's a lot of fun, and I've met some great new people.
Otherwise, not a lot new. I'm getting more freelance work-- this is nice-- and just sort of being. I can't believe it's been almost a year since my life changed so much. And you know what? It's a good thing.
Work-tired-- trying to keep my head above water on a million projects, with a million people getting in my way. Lovely.
Travel-tired-- I leave for DC tomorrow! Bag's all packed, cats are fed and watered. I'll be back on Tuesday. Anything I should do that's off the beaten path?
Blog-tired-- I am writing a lot. I found myself backed up and overwhelmed. I still liked posting, though, so that's a good sign.
Money-tired-- I need more freelance work. Silly car and tooth repairs.
However, everything else is dandy!
I feel sort of like death warmed over. I think I drank too much red wine last night-- 2 glasses only!-- so I didn't sleep well last night (hot, then cold, then headache...) and neither did Terry, so I'm sort of the walking dead today. I'm thinking I'll go home a little early and crash and definitely drink no wine this weekend.
I did have a successful dinner party last night. You can catch the recipes on my blog, and the lovely 5chw4r7z took some great photos which you can find on his Flickr. I am so darn impressed by some of the shots he got of my apartment.

This weekend, I plan on reading some, heading to Findlay Market, and relaxing. It's been a tough week at work, and I really just want to plant myself on the couch and watch basketball. I don't even like basketball that much, but it seems like a relaxing thing to do. We are going to Hugo on Saturday night, so that will be fun.
Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it.
